I graduated from Penn State as a double major, majoring in Psychology and Criminology. While in undergrad, I decided to pursue counseling in order for me to become a licensed therapist to better help others. I completed my master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in addiction and correctional counseling from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Due to my concentration, I was required to intern at clinical sites that provided me the opportunity to provide some level of addiction or correctional counseling. It was here that I entered residential treatment for teenagers and realized my passion for working with kiddos. When I first started counseling, I assumed I would only ever want to work with adults, however, following my internship I knew I could not work anywhere that did not provide me with an opportunity for counseling kiddos. From residential treatment I moved over to working with victims of crime in an outpatient setting. While working with crime victims, I have provided extensive trauma therapy for PTSD and complex trauma in both children and adults. Additionally, I have counseled many neurodivergent individuals throughout my counseling journey and in various settings; from residential to outpatient to group. In addition to my experience, I am trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Problematic Sexual Behavior Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I am also very passionate about physical fitness and its relationship to behaviors; because of this, I also obtained my personal training certification. I am a firm believer in a connection between mind and body, so I often like to include body movements in clinical sessions to help fuel the mind and body connection/reconnection. I am looking forward to joining this journey with Rooted to Rise Therapy!
