Couples Therapy is for anyone in an intimate relationship. By working with a therapist, couples can explore issues in their relationship, work on their communication, improve interactions, and resolve conflicts. While relationship counseling is often used to address problems, it can be helpful at any stage of a relationship. People in healthy, happy relationships can still benefit from counseling that strengthens their communication and connection.
A joint process between a therapist and person to inspire change or improve quality of life. Therapy can help people overcome obstacles to their well-being and increase positive feelings, such as compassion and self-esteem. People in therapy can learn skills for handling difficult situations, making healthy decisions, and reaching goals. Many find they enjoy the therapeutic journey of becoming more self-aware and continue ongoing therapy for self-growth.
Designed to address specific issues that affect the psychological health of the family, such as major life transitions or mental health conditions. It may be used as the primary mode of treatment or as a complementary approach. Families can benefit from therapy when they experience any stressful event that may strain their relationships, such as financial hardship, divorce, or the death of a loved one. It can strengthen the system facing interpersonal conflict, or behavioral problems in children and adolescents.
Therapeutic play is typically geared towards children 4-12. It normally takes place in a safe, comfortable playroom, where very few rules or limits are imposed on the child, encouraging free expression. This allows the therapist to observe the child’s choices, decisions, and play style. Through play therapy, children learn to communicate with others, express feelings, modify behavior, develop problem-solving skills, and learn a variety of ways to relate to others.
Movement therapy is typically designed to help a person deal with life challenges that are difficult to deal with and cause blockages in their life. We are located directly across from a park, which allows us to do "walk and talk" sessions integrated within office visits. Some clients particularly like the less traditional environment. Studies show moving the body while processing trauma helps to release difficult emotions and heal.
Group therapy is an empowering way to come together with like-minded people to process different and often difficult situations. Group therapy is a powerful way to grow through collective experience and story. We offer many groups, and are open to anything you are wishing to collaborate on.

This group is up and running for summer 2024. The group is 90 minutes long: 30 minutes of movement with guest instructors (yoga, strength, cardio) and 60 minutes of skills. This group will help girls increase self-awareness, build confidence, advocacy skills, and problem solve the typical adolescent issues that arise. Come in already established friendship circles to help strengthen the bond, or join a group to meet new people.
Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) identifies and changes negative thinking patterns while pushing for positive behavioral changes. Dialectical means two opposite ideas can be true simultaneously, and when considered together, they can create a new truth and a new way of viewing the situation. Dialectical strategies are a way to get moving when you are stuck. There is always more than one way to look at a situation. DBT teaches four primary skills to help people manage their thoughts: mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotional regulation.
