It has been my honor to accompany individuals and families on their therapeutic journeys for over two decades. I approach each person and their circumstances with compassion, creativity and expertise. It is my belief that effective therapy requires both clinical skill and an awareness and acceptance of each client as having their own particular history, strengths, and needs. This individuality necessitates respecting the vulnerability it takes to reach out for help and to trust the therapeutic relationship. I see it as a privilege to participate in that process with clients.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have worked in community and residential mental health, with adjudicated youth, in alternative educational settings, private schools, traditional public schools, and private practice. Supporting mental health in multiple settings has expanded and deepened my understanding of our community and its needs.
My focus for the last ten years has been on providing services for youth in crisis and those in need of support for anxiety and social/school avoidance. Other areas of strength include assisting adolescents, teens and parents through challenging life transitions including family conflict, divorce, and grief after significant loss.
Sessions will always begin with us discussing any immediate concerns, setting concrete goals and deciding on next best steps. My work is to help you explore your personal patterns challenge and what is not working and expand on what is. This is done through the modalities that best fit your needs and include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness Education, Trauma Informed Care, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy.
