I’m Merriah Kahrs, a Licensed Behavior Specialist with a deep commitment to helping individuals and families feel seen, supported, and empowered. I hold a Master’s Degree in Special Education with a focus on Autism from Slippery Rock University and a Bachelor’s in Community Programming for Americans with Disabilities – Adaptive Physical Activity.

Since 2013, I’ve been working in the mental health field across schools, homes, and community settings as a Special Education Teacher, Department Head, and Behavioral Consultant. My background includes roles such as Special Education Teacher in a Level 1 Autism Program, Department Head of an ASD Program, and Behavioral Consultant in homes, schools, and community environments. I also support students with college planning, offering guidance through the application process and helping them connect with disability services offices to ensure access to accommodations and support.

My approach is rooted in seeing each client as a whole person and building strong, trusting relationships to better understand their unique experiences. I believe that behavior is a form of communication, and there is always a reason behind it—even if it’s not immediately visible or easily understood. A key part of my work is helping clients build confidence in themselves, as I believe self-trust is the foundation for meaningful progress. My goal is to empower clients and their families to feel confident in both themselves and the strategies they’re using. I truly believe that even the most challenging behaviors can be transformed and redirected in ways that support growth, self-awareness, and overall well-being.
