I am completing my doctorate in occupational therapy (OTD) at Duquesne University, located in Pittsburgh, PA. As part of the fulfillment of my doctorate, I am honored to be completing my capstone project at Rooted to Rise.
I earned my Bachelor’s in Health Sciences from Duquesne University in May of 2025 and went on to complete my clinical rotations in Bucks County, PA. I completed rotations at Temple University Hospital’s acute neuro unit and Bucks County Intermediate Unit (IU) for preschoolers.
While at Duquesne, I was a research assistant for the Compass Program. This is an inclusive program for students with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD) to earn a post-secondary certification.
I am excited to work with everyone at Rooted to Rise!

You are invited to join my workshop series centered around supporting caregivers of children with a mental health disorder. When deciding on my project topic, I talked with Rooted to Rise staff to see where occupational therapy could fit into supporting clients. From there, I came up with a workshop series focused on educating caregivers on sensory processing and providing sensory regulation strategies.
If you feel your child is struggling with loud noises, energy levels, attending to tasks, or prefers certain clothing items, I am here to help you understand your child’s sensory needs and teach sensory regulation tools to help your family.
These workshops will be held between May 25th and August 14th of 2026. Caregivers will be asked to participate in 5 individual in-person workshops during your child’s therapy session. Our sessions will occur at Rooted to Rise in a quiet, private space while your child is attending their 50-minute therapy session. You can schedule these workshops anytime during the summer that best fits your family’s schedule/child’s therapy schedule. We will go over what sensory processing is and the 8 sensory systems a person has. I will also create and teach you specific tools you can use at home and or in the community. This will be an ongoing process, and we will work together to create tools that work best for your family.
This project is open to caregivers with a child aged 5-12 years old.
All caregivers attending workshops will also meet 1 time to talk about what tools worked for their family. The group workshop will be held during the last week of the project, August 10-14th.
